My interest in genealogy began as a teenager when my maternal aunt shared a pedigree chart. I spent the next few decades documenting my maternal lines to Mayflower pilgrims, Dutch settlers New Netherland, and mid-nineteenth century French immigrants in New England. My father is a first-generation Italian American. Researching my Italian lines back to the mid-eighteenth century, and then forward, has led to connections with cousins all over the U.S., Italy, Canada, and South America!
After 25 years as a genealogy hobbyist, in 2020 I established Generations Revealed, LLC and began my dream job as a professional genealogist. Courses at the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh, the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research, and Boston University's Genealogical Research Certificate program helped me learn the importance of focused genealogical research, analysis, and writing. In March 2023 I earned the credential of certified genealogist from the Board for Certification of Genealogists.
I specialize in United States research with a geographic focus on New York State, New York City, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Connecticut. I'm also an experienced forensic genealogist and conduct kinship research for attorneys in probate cases and for the U.S. military to assist in the accounting of over twenty-five missing service members from World War II. I enjoy the balance of traditional genealogy work and forensic genealogy work.
In addition to client work, I also serve as Editorial Assistant for the National Genealogical Society Quarterly. My work has appeared in the Association of Professional Genealogists Quarterly, the National Genealogical Society Quarterly (accepted for publication), and the Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey (accepted for publication).
I'm active within the genealogical community. I serve as President of the New England chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), as a Trustee on the Board for Certification of Genealogists (BCG) Education Fund, as an at-large board member of the APG Forensic Genealogy Special Interest Group, and as a committee member for the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy.
